Adam Thede, Editorial & Intimate Lifestyle Photographer

I’m a photographer based in Orange County, working throughout Los Angeles and Southern California. My work focuses on intimate portraiture, lifestyle photography, and emotionally driven editorial imagery shaped by atmosphere, collaboration, and human presence.
I’m drawn to photographs that feel lived-in rather than overly constructed. Images with texture, tension, personality, vulnerability, sensuality, and the feeling that something real is happening both in front of and behind the camera.
My influences come from fashion photography, cinema, documentary imagery, and fine art, but the goal is never perfection for its own sake. I’m more interested in creating photographs that feel emotionally honest, cinematic, tactile, and personal.

My Approach
Most shoots begin simply. Conversation, music, exploring the environment, settling into the energy of the space. Some sessions are playful and spontaneous. Others are quieter, slower, or emotionally vulnerable. The process changes depending on the person, because no two shoots should feel identical.
I don’t work from a rigid shot list or recycle the same poses repeatedly. Instead, I guide people through natural movement, interaction, and moments that allow personality and presence to emerge organically. Even the more intimate or sensual work is approached collaboratively and without pressure to “perform.”
Many of the people I photograph are not professional models. Part of my job is helping create an environment where people feel comfortable enough to relax, experiment, and see themselves differently than they normally do.
Working Together
I’m available for both commissioned photography and creative collaborations.
Some people come to me looking for intimate portraiture or artistic nude photography. Others want editorial-style imagery, creative branding work, lifestyle portraits, or simply the experience of creating something personal and visually striking.
Whether a shoot is soft and understated or bold and openly sensual, the goal remains the same: creating images that feel emotionally grounded and unmistakably human.

Beyond the Camera
I’m married and a father of two, and I take the trust involved in intimate photography seriously. Especially in vulnerable or emotionally charged work, comfort, communication, and mutual respect are never secondary to the images themselves.
What keeps me drawn to photography is not just aesthetics, but the experience of collaboration itself. The shift that happens when someone moves from nervousness or self-consciousness into confidence, openness, playfulness, or complete presence in front of the camera.
That transformation is often where the most honest images appear.
If my work resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you.
